Information about the song

You know that it would be untrue
You know that I would be a liar
If I was to say to you
This team couldn't get much higher
Come on Bobby, light a fire
Come on Bobby, light a fire
Try to set the team on fire

The time to hesitate is through
Go argue with a fat umpire
Don't allow the team to lose
And the season be a funeral pyre
Come on Bobby, light a fire
Come on Bobby, light a fire
Try to set the team on fire

(Instrumental interlude featuring Ray Manzarek on keyboard and Robby Krieger on guitar)

The time to hesitate is through

Don't allow the team to lose
And the season be a funeral pyre

Bobby Valentine needed to do something to shake things up. As it turned out, Steve Phillips did something a week later by firing three coaches.
