Information about the song

They've come undone
Old Grady went and left Martinez in
Because he thought that they still could win
But it was too late

Sox came undone
They found a curse that has refused to die
Even with Pedro throwing hard and high
It was too late

It's too late
They lost their chance
Their season's done

They've come undone
Old Grady thought he had the better team
And in Chicago, Dusty lost his dream
Baker, it was too late

Sox came undone
They always knew what they were headed for
The evil Yanks and that old Ruth folklore
Grady, it was too late

It's too late
They blew their chance
Their season's done
They've come undone

Too many seasons waiting for the evil Yanks
Too many heartbreaks, the curse must be true
Too many people who still remember Bucky Dent
Too many blown leads and not enough wins.

It's too late
They lost their chance
Their season's done

They've come undone
Doe-doe-doe-doe-doe doe un doe-doe-doe un doe-doe-doe
Doe doe-doe-doe-doe un doe-doe-doe doe-doe-doe
Doe doe-doe-doe doe doe-doe-doe doe doe

(flute instrumental)

It's too late
They lost their chance
their season's done

They've come undone
It looked like Pedro really lost his stuff
When Grady finally saw he'd seen enough
It was too late

Sox came undone
And the Chicago Cubs were flying high
But when they found out the fish could fly
Baker it was too late.

It's too late
They both got dumped
they lost the sun

(Next line is sung slowly and broadly)
They've come undone
No no no no no no no
Doe doe doe doe
Doe

Ocotber 19, 2003: The Red Sox haven't won a World Series since 1918. The Cubs haven't won since 1908. Both teams had a three runs lead, and only needed five outs to advance to the 2003 World Series. Both managers left their starting pitcher in too long. And both teams came undone. My friend Sylvia had the inspiration for this song, and wrote the bulk of it.
