Wake up little Redbirds, wake up
Wake up little Redbirds, wake up
You've played like you're asleep
Wake up little Redbirds and weep
It's almost over, you've lost three straight
And you're in trouble deep
Wake up little Redbirds, wake up little Redbirds
Well, what are you gonna tell Stan Musial
What do you say to Ozzie Smith
What are you gonna tell your fans when they say you're for spit
Wake up little Redbirds, wake up little Redbirds
Well, you told your fans you'd be the champs but then
LaRussa surely has screwed things up again
Wake up little Redbirds, wake up little Redbirds
You're just about done
Wake up little Redbirds, wake up
Wake up little Redbirds, wake up
Your pitching hasn't been hot
Your hitters tied up in knots
You fall asleep out on the bases
This series looks like it's shot
Wake up little Redbirds, wake up little Redbirds
Well, what are you gonna tell Stan Musial
What do you say to Ozzie Smith
What are you gonna tell your fans when they say you're for spit
Wake up little Redbirds, wake up little Redbirds
Wake up little Redbirds
October 27, 2004: This song was written as the Red Sox have taken a 3-0 lead in the 2004 World Series. The Cardinals look like they are asleep. My friend Sylvia came up with the idea for this song. I think it is because she is a fan of Jim Edmonds and Albert Pujols.
