Information about the song

Agee, Agee, in centerfield you were so fine
Agee, Agee, remember nineteen sixty nine
With your bat and with your glove
You earned our respect and love,
In every way you were a pro
Agee, Agee, we're so sad to see you go

Agee, we'll miss you, your catches made us feel so high
Agee, Agee, I guess we have to say goodbye
All the dreams we had that year
All the games at which we cheered
We'll remember every day
Agee, Agee, we're sad to see you go away

(Instrumental interlude)

You caught Hendricks' drive with flair,
Then you robbed a guy named Blair
After hitting a home run
Agee, Agee, you made that season really fun

(Instrumental interlude)

With your bat and with your glove
You earned our respect and love,
In every way you were a pro
But Agee, we'll miss you, buddy. We're so sad to see you go
Although Game 3 was a long time ago
Come on Mets fans, dry your eyes.
But Agee, Agee, we still can see you catch those drives
And Agee, Agee, you and your teammates won the prize.
