Information about the song

People say they can't watch when he pitches
Cause his pace is too darn slow
The third baseman yawns and the shortstop twitches
How they make a play, I don't know

So take a good look at my face
Every time he fakes to a base
I only wish he'd pick up the pace
Cause Trachsel brings tears

I feel blue...(feel blue)
Feel blue...(feel blue)

When he loses people tell me that it's not his fault
When he gives up unearned runs
But when the defense naps, you know the fielding lapse is
Caused by Steve's mother's son

So take a good look at my face
Every time he fakes to a base
I only wish he'd pick up the pace
Cause Trachsel brings tears

Outside I'm wildly cheering
Inside my eyes are tearing
He's just a clown who should be sat down
The pitching is boring
The losses are soaring with Steve

Bobby, take a good look at my face
Every time he fakes to a base
I only wish he'd pick up the pace
Cause Trachsel brings tears

Take a good look at my face
Every time he fakes to a base
I only wish he'd pick up the pace
Cause Trachsel brings tears

May 12, 2002: Steve Trachsel may be the slowest working pitcher in the history of baseball. A tree grows faster than he works. Smokey Robinson wrote and originally recorded the song, later covered by both Johnny Rivers and Linda Ronstadt.

Please see my previous complaint about Trachsel when he returned from a stint in the minors in 2001.
